PROGRAM ACTIVITIES
Environmental Sustainability
ODENOH is committed to helping communities protect Haiti’s natural environment while creating practical opportunities for sustainable livelihoods. Building on our previous agricultural work, we have trained farmers in sustainable farming practices, including crop diversification and agroforestry, to promote productive and environmentally responsible agriculture.
Today, our environmental work is expanding to include recycling and environmental education. Through our partnership with Home Roots Foundation, we are using their network of schools to educate young people about environmental protection and responsible waste management. We will launch recycling programs in schools, beginning with education and collection of recyclable materials.
The program will also expand into open-air markets, where we will engage women in recycling and waste-reduction activities while creating opportunities for them to participate in and benefit from the program.
Environmental Education and Community Recycling
ODENOH is developing community-based recycling initiatives that connect environmental education with practical action. Through schools and open-air markets, we will teach youth and community members about recycling, waste management, and the importance of protecting Haiti’s natural resources.
Our partnership with Home Roots Foundation provides access to schools where we can introduce environmental education and establish recycling activities. As the program grows, we will work with women in open-air markets to expand collection efforts and encourage cleaner, more sustainable marketplaces.
Women's Entrepreneurship and Economic Empowerment
ODENOH works to create opportunities for women to develop the skills and resources they need to strengthen their economic independence. Through our partnership with Home Roots Foundation, we connect with women interested in entrepreneurship and help recruit participants for our entrepreneurship program.
The program focuses on practical business skills that can be applied in local communities, including marketing, business development, and managing small enterprises. Through partnerships and community networks, we aim to help women turn their ideas and skills into sustainable income-generating opportunities.
By combining entrepreneurship with our environmental initiatives, including the expansion of recycling into open-air markets, ODENOH is creating opportunities for women to contribute to cleaner communities while building stronger livelihoods.
